Our 5th Grade 50 States Parade was a huge success!
Our students brought the United States to life with creativity, research, and pride. Each state was represented with fun facts and lots of enthusiasm. What an incredible way to celebrate learning!
We are so proud of the hard work and dedication our 5th graders put into this project. Take a look at some of the highlights from our parade!

Wednesday our staff enjoyed a fun snack station and mobile soda bar from Wild Dixie for a little midweek boost.
Thursday we kept the celebration going with boxed lunches from Jasonβs Deli because our Deerwood staff is truly βall that and a bag of chipsβ.
Friday, our staff enjoyed sweet treats that were just what we needed to end the week on a high note!
Thank you to our amazing Deerwood PTA for loving on our staff so well and making this week so special!
Here are a few moments from this amazing choir performance.
On Monday, our teachers and staff were treated to a Jasonβs Deli breakfast, goodie bags filled with their most requested items, and a take home dinner from Raising Caneβs for their families.
Today, we continued the celebration with a festive fiesta and fajita lunch from Hacienda Los Arcos.
We are so grateful for our amazing team and all they do for our students each and every day!
Deerwood Elementary School warmly invites you to join us for a special Flagpole Dedication Ceremony honoring the life and legacy of Mrs. Kristi Smith-a beloved educator and devoted patriot.
The ceremony will take place on May 7, 2026, at 8:15 am at Deerwood Elementary.
Through Mrs. Smith's dedication to education and her heartfelt patriotism, she left a lasting impact on all who knew her. In tribute to her legacy, we are honored to dedicate our school flagpole in her memory.
We especially welcome all of Mrs. Smith's former students, colleagues, friends, and family to attend this meaningful event.
Attendees are encouraged to wear red, white and blue.

Derby Day looked a little different this year, but the fun didnβt miss a beat! The excitement showed up big time! So many great memories made with no sunshine required!

We are so proud of your achievements and the way you represented Deerwood! Keep exploring, keep questioning, and keep reaching for the stars!

Due to the weather forecast for Friday, we will be making the following adjustment to the Derby Day schedule. Please remember, we will have no visitors for lunch on Friday.
