DWE PTA: Earth Day Service Project
Join us for a meaningful Family Service Project in honor of Earth Day!
On Saturday, April 25th from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM, we’ll gather at the school to help clean up and beautify the front area. This is a great opportunity for families to serve together and make a positive impact on our school community.
We’ll have supplies available, but we encourage volunteers to bring work gloves and any gardening tools you’d like to use (please label them so they don’t get lost).

This summer, students going into 4th through 6th grades can embark on an unforgettable adventure at the Riverwood Middle School Texas Bluebonnet Reading Summer Camp, where books come to life, and creativity knows no bounds! Dive into diverse stories that expand your world while tackling thrilling STEAM challenges—from coding and robotics to hands-on experiments and artistic creations. Each day will feature a different Bluebonnet book and will be packed with interactive activities that spark curiosity, build leadership skills, and inspire innovative thinking.
Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to Noon, July 21 - 23, 2026, in the RMS Library.

Our Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students had an egg-stra special time at their egg hunts!
On Thursday, March 26, 2026, the Deerwood Chess Club celebrated their last club meeting for the year by organizing a mini-tournament and party. Twenty-one students in grades 3-5 participated in three rounds of chess to practice competition style matches and celebrate all the success we have had in promoting chess at DWE. The students participated in 3 matches of chess for 15 minutes per round. Most matches finished within 15 minutes, but for those who had not completed the match, the winner was determined by how many pieces were left on the board. In between rounds, students enjoyed a smorgasbord of treats provided by our chess families. Thank you all for the amazing support.
