Hello NBE families! We’ve set a goal to create a community of lifesavers by getting everyone to complete Finn’s Mission and learn
Hands-Only CPR. When given immediately, Hands-Only CPR can double (or
even triple) a person’s chance of surviving cardiac arrest. If you haven’t done
it yet, complete Finn’s Mission today to learn this lifesaving skill and earn
special thank-you gifts.

🐝 Scripps Spelling Bee Update! πŸ“š
Today we began the first stages of our spelling bee! Please encourage your child to practice saying the word clearly and then spelling it correctly. In class, Ms. Craig will pronounce the word, your child will repeat it for clarification, spell it confidently, and then say the word again to finish. Let’s get those spelling skills buzzing! βœ¨πŸ”€πŸ

NBE YearBooks Ordering Announcement
Hey There Parents/Guardians! It’s getting closer to Fall Book Fair time at NBE!

The Book Fair will be November 10-14. Adults may attend the Book Fair with their NBE child/ren during their grade level time. That schedule will be coming to you later.

This link will give you all the information that you will need to know for the Book Fair: https://shorturl.at/x0oYy

Please consider setting up an eWallet. It is cleaner, easier, and safer than cash. Of course, I will still take cash and debit or credit cards. Please put cash in a baggie and label it with your child’s name.

I will be looking for adults to help at the Book Fair, so please watch for the Sign Up Genius link to come in a separate message. As a volunteer, if you purchase $20.00 or more (excluding tax) at the Book Fair, you will receive $5.00 off your total purchase. Please make childcare arrangements for your smaller children, as they cannot attend the Book Fair while you are volunteering.

If you have any questions, please email me at cjcraig@humbleisd.net

Monday, September 15 marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month! This day is especially meaningful because it celebrates the independence of five countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
To kick off the celebrations, we invite all students to wear their Hispanic attire on Monday. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to celebrate their culture, learn about the history of Hispanic Heritage Month, and share in the joy of this special occasion.
Thank you for helping us make this day festive and meaningful!

Today, Ms. Simmons and her 4th grade class were busy #doingscience! 🌟

Their objective was: β€œI can observe patterns and ask questions to help me describe matter.”

During the lesson, students asked a thoughtful question: Would the taste change if you made a root beer float with different sodas?

To support their curiosity, Ms. Simmons provided three different kinds of soda along with vanilla ice cream so students could explore and compare. The class had a wonderful time investigating, observing, and discussing their resultsβ€”truly bringing science to life! πŸ‘©β€πŸ”¬πŸ‘¨β€πŸ”¬
