Our fifth grade had a wonderful morning celebrating their year. What new adventures await them!

Each year the DWE PTA Silent Auction includes "Pick a Theme Day" and this year's winners have chosen Mismatch Day! Students and staff are invited to wear crazy mismatched outfits on Friday, 5/23.

Summer reading is an important way to stop the summer slide. That's one of the reasons we have our Great Summer Book Swap. It would be great for everyone to have a "new to them" book to start the summer.
Visit our website at https://www.humbleisd.net/o/dwe/article/1570092 to find out more. There is an ongoing list of books that have been donated, a copy of the schedule, and a printable link to the permission slip.
If you would like to donate, our greatest need is books that are sixth-grade appropriate for our rising sixth graders. Thank you for being wonderful supporters of our DWE and FE readers.

Happy Nurse's Day! We love our very own Nurse Nichols. She is one of our favorite everyday heroes who make the world healthier and happier.

On this fabulous Go Texan Day, Deerwood is ready to rodeo! Yee-haw!

We have such a fun, busy day on Friday at Deerwood. Our students will participate in the AHA's Heart Challenge during their specials time. Our Out-of-This-World Scholastic Book Fair opens on Friday, and it is a must-see! It is also Go Texan Day, so show your Texan pride! It is optional, but we would love to see Texans wear, cowboy boots, and everything in between.
Please remember to have PE-appropriate shoes for the Heart Challenge.

Big shoutout to the KHS Soccer Seniors who visited PE this week. They joined PE classes and inspired younger students by being amazing role models.
