Humble ISD offers a diverse range of Career & Technical Education (CTE) courses to match various interests, including Dental Assisting, Culinary Arts, Barbering, Real Estate, Drone Piloting, and more. In episode 36 of Ask an Expert, Humble ISD Director of CTE Larry Wilson discusses which courses lead to industry certifications, highlights new and expanding CTE programs, and explains how middle school students can get a head start in career and technical education.

We are excited to celebrate Black History Month! This year's theme is Celebrating Black History and Its Impact on the Workforce: Honoring Contributions and Achievement. We will have Themed Dress Days beginning February 17, 2025. We will end the month with our Annual Black History Celebration Night, on February 28, 2025, from 6-8 PM.


Students and Staff, join us in participating this week for the Teen Dating Violence Awareness Week. In the picture are the attires for the week.

We want to give a shoutout to our UIL Team for representing Ross Sterling during the UIL competition. Shoutout to everyone who participated and thank you to Mrs. Bobino, Ms. Schneider, Mr. Cavazos, Dr. Woodland and Mr. Nguyen for your support. Also, the Dancing Belles represented SMS during the dance competition at KPHS, in where they got 1st place in both competitions they participated. Way to go Bearcats!

SMS wants to congratulate Mr. Koehler, our 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year! A true champion for kids and a stand-up guy. Mr. Koehler leads with heart, purpose, and an unmatched commitment to excellence.


SMS hosted its second district-wide chess tournament this past weekend. Thank you to everyone who participated and to Dr. Woodland for bringing this initiative to SMS.


Humble ISD is cancelling school due to the potential for hazardous roadway conditions. Humble ISD will be CLOSED on Tuesday, January 21, and on Wednesday, January 22, due to the weather forecast. As a reminder, Humble ISD is CLOSED on Monday, January 20, for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Holiday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Houston beginning at 6 p.m. Monday. “Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous,” the National Weather Service stated. “The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening, and Wednesday morning commutes.”

Our very own amazing staff members Ms. Schneider and Mrs. Hildebrand's young bearcats Max and Matthew represented RSMS well by bringing home the Middle School Matchup Baseball Championship. Way to go guys!


This is a reminder that we have Early Dismissal Thursday, Dec. 19 and Friday, Dec. 20. Students will be dismiss at 12:35 pm. Also, NO backpacks allowed.

Humble ISD is teaming up with Humble Area Assistance Ministries (HAAM) to bring holiday cheer to students in need through the Empty Stocking Seasons of Sharing Drive.
