Playground Dedication

Humble ISD invites families and the community to celebrate the grand opening of Lakeshore Elementary’s new “Dreamland”-themed playground. A dedication ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, December 8, at the school, located at 13333 Breakwater Path Drive.

The event will feature student performances by the Leopard Steppers and the Lakeshore Elementary Singers, followed by remarks from Principal Richarria Benton, and student reflections on what the new playground means to them.

The Lakeshore Elementary playground and its Dreamland theme embrace color and whimsy to create a wonderland of play. Intended for children ages 5-12, the playground features custom equipment and detailed poured-in-place (PIP) rubber surfacing that bring imagination to life.

The playground features a 23-foot-tall “Dream Delivery Tower” with four levels of rope climbing challenges and three 19-foot-tall slides. Climbing continues at the “Memory Conveyor” net climber, a 41-foot-long structure comprised of varying rope patterns, hangout hammocks, and a membrane slide.

A “Dream Factory” play structure incorporates multiple interactive elements, including a Cliff Rider, a thrilling play activity that challenges students to swing from one side to the other, replicating the motion of pole vaulting.

Children can climb aboard the “Dream Train” to find four “cars” of climbing, jumping, and sliding fun. A ten-seat swing set, featuring ADA-accessible seating, is adorned with a rainbow, unicorns, and desserts. Slightly less sweet in the “Broccoli Forest” awaits a rope course and Saturn Carousel, a structure that puts a circular twist onto traditional swinging.

A wheelchair-accessible carousel invites students to enjoy spinning thrills together, with other spinning play equipment situated nearby. The PIP rubber surfacing is designed in a dazzling array of vibrant colors that lead children through each section of the imaginative playscape, along with a section of PIP “memory” balls area for climbing and balancing.

The playground is designed and installed by KOMPAN.

This new playground marks the 24th installation in Humble ISD’s ongoing campus playground revitalization initiative and is the sixth unveiled during the 2025-2026 school year.

Humble ISD elementary playgrounds are open to the public when school is not in session.
