With clubs, organizations and athletic programs stationed at tables, there was a great turnout during eighth grade night on Monday. Student leaders answered questions, along with coaches and teachers.

Join us this Saturday from 10 am to noon, for a Veterans community celebration on the AHS football field! Tour a Black Hawk helicopter and meet the crew. Grades 6-12 and all adults invited on the field for fun, combat fitness led by the AHS Marine Corps JROTC and Veteran Navy SEAL Congressman Dan Crenshaw. You won't want to miss student performances including KHS saxophone quartet and AHS Patriettes. Hope to see you there!

Work Out With a Vet, originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2, has been postponed due to the weather forecast of rain/thunderstorms.

The final home game for the girls volleyball team will be tonight. All of the seniors will be celebrated as the team takes on Splendora.


NHS officers held a leadership conference after school on Oct. 23. Students were able to listen to coach Eric Coovert talk about leadership before rotating through stations led by the officers.

Seniors Carson Brown and Elijah Merino qualified for the UIL 5A Cross Country State Championships. The two will compete on Nov. 2. This will be the third State appearance for both runners.


JROTC students volunteered as more than 1,000 pumpkins arrived for the community pumpkin patch at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church on Woodland Hills Drive.


The Thrift Market is taking place on Oct. 16-17 during Flex Hour. As a fundraiser, students can go shopping for donated clothing. Each item is only $1.

Seniors in Government and Economics classes listed to Harris County voter registration officials. Students who are eligible to vote in the next election were also given the opportunity to register during class.


During Homecoming Week, seniors Wells Kenny and Bailey Fovargue were crowned King and Queen at halftime of the varsity football game.

On Wednesday, the halls were brightened by all the neon colors. The Homecoming theme is Gloco and Wednesday was Neon Day.


The Homecoming theme days continued on Tuesday with Crocs and Socks taking the spotlight.


Homecoming Week kicked off with Jersey Day as the first theme. Many students participated with a wide variety of jerseys.
