In 3rd, we explored several methods for calculating elapsed time. In science, we practiced separating mixtures. In reading, we learned about point of view and how character relationships can impact a story. In writing, we practiced how to write an effective answer to a question.

Students in PE practiced their underhanded rolling skills as they collected "pumpkins" in the Centennial Elementary Pumpkin Patch. Not only did students utilize their rolling skills, but they also demonstrated teamwork, patience and perseverance. Proud of our Bulldogs!

1st Grade
Kinder reads β€œRoom on the Broom” and practiced re-telling what the witch put in her cauldron! Then these kindergarteners got to go outside and find 5 ingredients for their own magic potion and wrote about the whole adventure in their journals!

BOO at the Barn! AHS, HHS & SCHS FFA presents Boo at the Barn from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, at the South Ag Barn behind Turner Stadium, 1700 Wilson Road in Humble. Admission is a canned food item. Costumes are encouraged! Come enjoy trick-or-treating, chicken bingo, concessions, $5 unlimited inflatables, mechanical bull, and animals!

4th graders have really been enjoying researching their favorite animal's structures and functions this week! Expect some cool facts coming your way. In RELA, students have been working independently on identifying the claim and evidence in argumentative texts.

Fifth-graders had a great time going through the writing process to write a personal narrative. They brainstormed, drafted, revised, and edited to get to their final drafts. The students then had the opportunity to read their peers' papers and leave a positive note! They enjoyed taking ownership of their work and taking pride in a finished product!

This week our fabulous firsties learned about the vowel, e, and reviewed all the short sounds that vowels make. They explored addition strategies within 10 and were introduced to β€œhow to” writings by learning how to make a quesadilla! We kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month by writing and eating! Yum! It’s always a great day to learn in first grade! πŸ₯°

Math: This week we continued working on multiplication, working on story problems and relationship tables. Next week, we'll dive into place value. RELA: We learned how authors craft arguments and finished up our personal narratives. Next week, we'll read and write poetry. Science: We're classifying matter based on its properties.
