On Thursday, students and community members gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the new outdoor obstacle course and fitness area at Woodcreek Middle School. The dedication ceremony featured remarks from Principal Dr. Alan Moye, a student performance of the Star-Spangled Banner, spirited performances by the school’s cheer team and band, and live demonstrations of the course by student athletes.
A highlight of the event was a special appearance by Adam Rayl, a seven-time finalist on American Ninja Warrior. Rayl made remarks, provided coaching as students tested the new course, and even joined in a head-to-head challenge with Woodcreek Math teacher Mr. Wilbert Edwards.
Woodcreek Middle School is the third Humble ISD secondary campus to unveil a new obstacle course and fitness area during the 2024–2025 school year. This marks the fifth new outdoor obstacle course and fitness area completed in Humble ISD.
Additional middle and high schools across the district will receive these enhancements by 2027 as part of Bond 2022.

The equipment offers a dynamic range of physical activities inspired by televised obstacle competitions.
Beginner-friendly features include:
Slanted Jump Boards

Burmese Floating Bridge
For those seeking a greater challenge, the course includes:
Salmon Ladder
Hovering Beams
Rotating Cone Wheels
Toggle Pull-Up Triangles

The course also features Step-Up Clamps for accessibility and branching pathways that allow users to choose between different challenges. The course concludes with a dramatic 12-foot Finish Wall—custom-built taller than the standard Greenfields design to match the skill level of Woodcreek students.
The obstacle course and fitness areas were designed and installed by Greenfields Outdoor Fitness andPlayWell. The course and fitness area will be open for public use outside of school hours.
