Humble ISD to Hold Community Listening Session on March 26

The Superintendent of Humble ISD Community Engagement Advisory Committee (CEAC) invites parents, staff, and district residents to participate in a Community Listening Session on Thursday, March 26, at Woodcreek Middle School, 14600 Woodson Park Drive. A reception with the Superintendent and CEAC will be held at 5:30 p.m. The Listening Session will be from 6 to 7 p.m.

The purpose of the Listening Session is to provide an opportunity for community members to share comments, suggestions and concerns for consideration by Humble ISD leadership. The CEAC is a strategically designed body of diverse stakeholders, including parents, educators, and community leaders, working together to strengthen the relationship between district leadership and the public. Dr. Timothy Sloan, CEAC Chair and Senior Pastor of The Luke Church, will serve as moderator for the Listening Session.

The focus of the event is to listen and gather community input. During this Listening Session, district representatives will not respond to questions or comments, but all comments will be reviewed and considered by the CEAC as it provides guidance to the Superintendent.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for a reception, providing an opportunity to meet Superintendent Dr. Brown and the committee members. Refreshments will be offered at the reception.

The Listening Session will take place from 6 to 7 p.m., beginning with brief introductory remarks from the committee followed by public comments. There will be no sign up for public comments. Parents, staff, and residents may approach the microphone. Participants are asked to limit comments to three minutes when at the microphone.

The CEAC also invites comments online. The form to submit comments online will remain open through April 2, 2026.

Humble ISD is seeking feedback on:

  • What is working well in Humble ISD?

  • What should Humble ISD continue or strengthen?

  • What are your concerns about Humble ISD?

  • In what ways can Humble ISD better support students?

In addition to the CEAC, Dr. Brown regularly seeks input from a student advisory group and two teacher advisory groups. The CEAC plans to host additional Listening Sessions in the future. The next session is scheduled for September 2026 at a location in another area of the district, to be announced at a later date.
