Current kindergarten students at Centennial Elementary will be able to continue at Centennial through 5th grade if families choose to do so by completing the transfer request as part of the grandfathering process. This ensures continuity for students who have already started building relationships and adjusting to their school environment.

As for the differences between Centennial and Summerwood Elementary, both schools are part of Humble ISD and follow the same curriculum, educational standards, and use of instructional resources, ensuring a consistent learning experience no matter which campus a student attends.

While Centennial is a newer campus with updated hallway décor, more modern furnishings, and a recently installed playground, the district is committed to maintaining and improving all schools. Summerwood Elementary will receive updates as needed to ensure a high-quality learning environment. Both campuses have access to the same learning materials, technology tools, and platforms—including computer labs, library resources, and district-supported devices—so that every student benefits from equal educational opportunities.
