In July, 27 students and adults from Sconzo Early College High School took classroom learning abroad as part of the Artists of Italy and France educational tour, led by Dual-Credit Art Teacher Mr. Adrian Gipson.
Traveling through Rome, Florence, and Paris, students brought their studies in art, history, architecture, and culture to life through firsthand experiences at some of Europeβs most renowned cultural and historic sites. Highlights included visits to the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, Colosseum, Borghese Gallery, Accademia Gallery, and MusΓ©e de lβOrangerie.
Through guided instruction, hands-on painting and fresco workshops, and visits to historic landmarks, students experienced the artists, techniques, and cultural movements they studied in the classroom. The international learning experience transformed lessons from textbooks into meaningful, real-world connections while giving students a deeper appreciation for the art, history, and cultures of Italy and France.
