Summer Creek High School Sophomore Naomi Jackson was recognized at a Regional Career and Technical Education (CTE) Awards Ceremony, held on April 7, 2026, produced by We Go Public and the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA), presented by Stantec, and hosted by Texas State Technical College.
Jackson finished as a Top 10 Finalist in the 2026 CTE Architecture Houston/ESC Region 4 Contest and was awarded a certificate, a plaque and a scholarship. She competed alongside students from across the Houston Region.
For her project, Jackson designed a student housing facility focused on supporting academic success, well-being and community. The design accommodates approximately 210 students across three floors and includes a mix of room types and shared spaces that encourage collaboration and connection.
The awards ceremony brought together students, families, educators and industry partners to highlight how public schools prepare students for real-world careers through hands-on projects. Participants demonstrated advanced skills, with architecture students creating innovative, functional, and sustainable designs, and construction students showcasing projects that emphasized craftsmanship, safety, and technical expertise.
From designing innovative spaces to building hands-on projects, these students are proving what’s possible through Career and Technical Education.
