Our 5th Grade Science Olympiad Team represented our school with PRIDE on Tuesday at the district competition. Our team placed first in two events (Catapult and Mystery Challenge) and third in one event (Build a Bridge). We also won a Spirit Award for good sportsmanship.
Our 1st annual Club Expo was a huge success. OFE clubs had the opportunity to show off what they have been working on in their club and give the opportunity for 3rd and 4th grade students to explore clubs that they may want to join in the future.

Harris County has asked multiple communities in our school district to evacuate. As you know, heavy rainfall caused Lake Conroe, Lake Livingston, Lake Houston, both the East and West Forks of the San Jacinto River, and other creeks to rise. Additionally, authorities are planning a massive release of water from both Lake Conroe and Lake Livingston, which will bring the East and the West forks of the San Jacinto River to major flood stages – impacting many of our staff, students, families, and community members.
While we had planned to wait for an 8 PM weather and flooding update from Houston Flood Control, inundation maps have made any predicted rainfall for tomorrow morning moot. The release of Lakes Livingston and Conroe will give us more water than we can safely handle, so there will be no school Friday, May 3, 2024.
Our 2023-2024 academic calendar included ample state-required instructional minutes to accommodate such a weather-related closure, eliminating the need for a make-up day.

Class of 2024 Senior Breakfast! Join us at 8:15 a.m. on Wed. May 22 for breakfast, a stroll through the halls of OFE and the opening of your class time capsule! Wear your cap & gown.
Testing Reminders... OFE is closed to visitors on testing days! Students should... get a good night’s rest before testing, eat a nutritious and balanced breakfast, bring a mess free snack & bring a water bottle with a secure lid. You can find more testing info on our website.
