What a fabulous night with the Arts! 5th grade Fine Arts students showcased their many talents during our annual Wildcat Palooza lead by our amazing music teachers-Ms. Lawson, Mr. Gleason, and Mr. Smith. Instruments students impressively played included clarinets, flutes, trumpets, violins, cellos, guitars, and pianos. The choir students sang pop songs that engaged the audience to sing along. Students and families participated in various art-themed activities around campus. They also got to view our Gifted and Talented end-of-year projects that were on display. Our G/T students studied the inner workings of theme parks and designed and created mood boards showing what their original theme park would look and feel like. The Palooza was our last big parent event of the school year, and what a note to end on!

Humble ISD will be open on Monday, May 6, 2024. Classes and activities at all campuses will resume, and buses will operate as normal. Please see news release for more information, https://www.humbleisd.net/article/1583977.

Humble ISD will be closed on Friday, May 3, 2024.
Harris County has asked multiple communities in our school district to evacuate. As you know, heavy rainfall caused Lake Conroe, Lake Livingston, Lake Houston, both the East and West Forks of the San Jacinto River, and other creeks to rise. Additionally, authorities are planning a massive release of water from both Lake Conroe and Lake Livingston, which will bring the East and the West forks of the San Jacinto River to major flood stages – impacting many of our staff, students, families, and community members.
While we had planned to wait for an 8 PM weather and flooding update from Houston Flood Control, inundation maps have made any predicted rainfall for tomorrow morning moot. The release of Lakes Livingston and Conroe will give us more water than we can safely handle, so there will be no school Friday, May 3, 2024.
Our 2023-2024 academic calendar included ample state-required instructional minutes to accommodate such a weather-related closure, eliminating the need for a make-up day.
Humble ISD stands ready to support our community.

For the second year in a row, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Alpha Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter adopted Lakeland Elementary for Earth Day!
Last year they planted 12 Crepe Myrtle, and this year they returned with 200 volunteers to celebrate Earth Day with our Lakeland Elementary Garden Club.
This year they partnered with: *Inspire Church - donated supplies, water, snacks and brought volunteers. *KSBJ 89.3 - Hope Media Group - donated water, snacks, and supplies and also brought volunteers. *The Pearls of Lake Houston Education and Charitable Foundations - supplied items for our garden club. *State Representative Harold Dutton & Nature Heritage Society - donated 50 trees to beautify our campus.
We were able to plant Vitex, Pine, Live Oak, Pecan, and Black Cherry trees!
Thank you to all of these organizations and individuals for their generous donations, their time and efforts in transforming the grounds of Lakeland. The trees are enjoyed today and will be for future generations of Wildcats to come!

Science is for the birds! Our bird-themed Science Night was a success. Students and their families rotated through a variety of hands-on stations learning about bird characteristics, they made bird feeders to take home, and they observed live birds brought from the SPCA. It was an incredible experience for everyone!
