To celebrate the 79th anniversary of the United States Air Force, the AFJROTC conducted a push-up competition between all four lunches to celebrate the event on Sept. 18.
For the students who could complete the 30 pushups, they were rewarded with a slice of cake.
Every year to celebrate the anniversary, the program gets a birthday cake to have fun and increase camaraderie. This year, the idea was to spread the party throughout the school.
“We thought ‘Why not share?’” Melendez said. “This is what we actually do in the Air Force. People come together, share cake. So I’m happy to see this all going into the school culture.”
