Set in a small Louisiana Town, Truvy’s beauty salon introduces the lives of six southern women. Truvy, Annelle, Shelby, M’Lynn, Clairee and Ouiser take the spotlight on Kingwood Park’s cafeteria stage as a dinner theater.
“Steel Magnolias,” written by Robert Harlin, is theater’s first show for the 2026-27 season. The cast and crew features strictly students from varsity theater classes. The class requires students to participate in the varsity show performance for the first semester, followed by UIL One-Act Play the second semester.
“This is where you start making friends with everyone,” senior lead actress Charlotte Terrell said. “Through the next shows you get close, and then UIL, you’re ready to go… You’re very in sync with everyone to perform for a higher level competition.”
