In January, 14 Humble ISD band, choir and orchestra students performed as members of the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Band, Choir and Orchestra, the highest individual honor a Texas high school musician can achieve.
The students represented Atascocita, Kingwood, Kingwood Park and Summer Creek High Schools.
Being named to a TMEA All-State performing ensemble is a remarkable accomplishment. Students are selected through an extensive audition process that begins with more than 70,000 musicians statewide. After advancing through all-district, all-region and all-area auditions, only the top students earn the opportunity to perform as members of the TMEA All-State Band, Choir, or Orchestra.
