Twelve Humble ISD journalism students have earned enough points to be submitted to the University Interscholastic League to be a part of the 2025 UIL All-State Journalism Staff.
The 12 students were honored at the Humble ISD School Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 13, for this accomplishment.
To qualify for the UIL All-State Journalism Staff, students must earn more than 50 points through competition at the local, regional, state UIL Journalism competitions or the Interscholastic League Press Conference.
The UIL sponsors five journalism contests - news writing, feature writing, editorial writing, headline writing and copy editing. ILPC offers its members yearbook, newspaper, online news and broadcast competitions. ILPC also sponsors an annual three-day spring convention and a three-day intensive summer workshop. Both are held at the University of Texas at Austin.
Journalism students can also earn points through state or national press association competitions to earn acceptance to the All-State Journalism Staff.
