Humble ISD fourth-grade students joined peers from across the Houston area for the First Tee of Greater Houston Champions Challenge.
The event is a hands-on extension of the First Tee School Program, a long-standing partnership between First Tee β Greater Houston, Humble ISD and Aldine ISD. Humble ISD has participated in the program for 19 years, reflecting its commitment to innovative physical education and whole-child development.
Students teamed up with peers from other schools in groups named after PGA and LPGA professionals. They rotated through skill stations and course challenges while physical education teachers and trained First Tee volunteers emphasized sportsmanship, confidence and perseverance.
The event featured two courses. Top honors went to Team Duval on the Orange Course and Team Holmes on the Blue Course.
Each team included a mix of students from multiple districts, along with participants from Humble ISD campuses including Bear Branch, Jack Fields, Maplebrook, Shadow Forest and Willow Creek elementary schools.
