Reflections is a multi-level arts program that brings students, families, and communities together through creativity.
Each year, students create original works of art in response to a student-created theme. Students can enter one or more arts categories and participate in the program division that best fits their grade level or support needs. Based on options available in each state, winning entries may advance for additional recognition at the state and national levels.
Students create artworks in one or more of the available arts category areas. Students submit and participate in grade-based divisions:
Primary (Pre-K - Grade 2)
Intermediate (Grades 3-5)
Middle School (Grades 6-8)
High School (Grades 9-12)
Accessible Arts (All Grades Welcome)
The Accessible Arts division is an optional participation pathway for students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA Section 504. Accessible Arts offers division-specific accommodations to ensure that every student has the chance to participate fully in the program.
Reflections Prizes
Based on the award(s) earned, student artists receive the following prizes:
Merit Award: Bronze Medal; Certificate of Merit; Work featured in the virtual exhibition
Award of Excellence: $200 Young Artist Scholarship; Silver Medal; Certificate of Excellence; Work featured in the virtual exhibition
Outstanding Interpretation Award: $800 Young Artist Scholarship; Gold Medal; Certificate of Outstanding Interpretation; Work featured in the virtual exhibition; $200 Prize for Local PTA Unit
