Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month |
From September 15 through October 15, Elm Grove proudly celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month! This yearβs theme, βUnidos, Somos MΓ‘sβ (Together, We Are More), reminds us that our diverse cultures, traditions, and stories make our Eagle community stronger. Hispanic Heritage Month began as a weeklong celebration in 1968 and expanded to a full month in 1988. September 15 was chosen as the starting date because it marks the independence anniversaries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, followed by Mexico on September 16 and Chile on September 18. We are excited to honor the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans throughout our Elm Grove community! |
