Did you know that Humble ISD has an observatory at the Jack Fields Elementary campus in Humble? It is called the Insperity Observatory and it was built in 2009 as a partnership between Humble ISD and corporate donors like Insperity. It provides students and the general community with hands-on astronomy experiences! It has a retractable roof that opens to expose the night sky and also has 3 powerful telescopes: a 20 inch CDK telescope, a 16-inch Meade LX-200, and a 6-inch Takahashi telescope! It is open to the general public from dusk until 10:00 PM on the first Friday of every month
