Families, pre-kindergarten students, and community members came together on Monday, May 19, to celebrate the official dedication of the new “Toy Town”-themed playground at Humble ISD’s Early Childhood Center.
The event began with welcoming remarks from Campus Coordinator Amanda Price. In her remarks, Ms. Price also recognized Susie Bellah, a retired Humble ISD educator, for her generous donation of more than 3,000 books to the Early Childhood Center Library. In honor of her contribution, Bellah was presented with a plaque on behalf of the campus.
As part of the celebration, pre-k students proudly recited their campus pledge and chant, followed by a performance of “You Are My Sunshine.”
A highlight of the celebration included student speeches in which the young learners shared their excitement about the new playground and the colorful murals that now brighten their school.
The new murals were created by talented student artists from Atascocita High School, Kingwood Park High School, and Guy M. Sconzo Early College High School. These works were showcased during an on-campus art reception held in conjunction with the playground dedication in celebration of this beautification initiative that brings high school artwork to the Early Childhood Center.
The campus’s new playground marks the eighth playground unveiled during the 2024–2025 school year and the 18th overall under Humble ISD’s playground revitalization initiative.
