Humble ISD invites families and community members to celebrate the grand opening of the Early Childhood Center’s new “Toy Town” themed playground. A dedication ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 19, at the Early Childhood Center, located at 8105 E N Belt.
The event will feature a special musical performance by Pre-K students, student speeches, and an art reception showcasing pre-k student artwork and murals created by talented art students from Sconzo Early College, Atascocita, and Kingwood Park High Schools. These student-led murals are part of a larger campus beautification project that brings high school student-created art to the Early Childhood Center.
Designed for children ages 2–5, the new playground embraces a toy theme with equipment tailored to the needs of younger children. Highlights include the “Triple Shifter” rocket play structure and a Western-themed play tower offering a variety of climbing, sliding, and tactile play experiences.
The wheelchair-accessible Universal Carousel evokes the feel of a Wild West corral, while the UFO dome provides rope climbing adventures built for younger ages. The Monkey Trails net structure presents three unique rope challenges, and a Three-Seater Carousel offers a circular twist on the traditional swing experience.
Imaginative play continues with a car-themed play structure complete with a steering wheel, gear shift, and interactive, kid-sized features. Children can also enjoy bouncing on spring riders shaped like a horse, T. rex and dog.
The toy theme continues with ADA-accessible, rubber poured-in-place (PIP) surfacing, featuring a cowboy hat, letter blocks, a piggy bank, and aliens in its design.
This new playground marks the 18th installation in Humble ISD’s ongoing campus playground revitalization initiative and is the eighth unveiled during the 2024-2025 school year. The playground was designed and installed by KOMPAN.
