Dear Dolphins & Bulldogs,
Our Storybook Character Parade will take place on Friday, October 25, 2024 starting at 8:30 AM. For this event, students may dress up like their favorite storybook character as they parade outside the school. Families are invited and encouraged to watch, take pictures, and cheer from the front of the school. The front driveway will be blocked off to traffic after morning arrival.
Students may choose any character from an appropriate, elementary school book that they love reading. Please make sure costumes are not scary. Costumes may not have a mask, weapon, or contain blood. Costumes must also meet school dress code guidelines. Please refrain from wearing inflatable costumes- we’ve found it’s very hard for students to parade in an inflatable costume.
You do NOT have to buy anything new for this event. Please be creative – make paper ears, a hat, or wear the clothes the character would wear. Students should come to school dressed as the storybook character, and should be able to go to the restroom independently while in character. Students may change after the parade but it’s fun seeing our favorite book characters throughout the day!
Students should either carry the book or make a visual of the book and the character they are portraying. Students who do not wish to wear a costume may make signs or props to carry during the parade representing a favorite book character.
Thank you for joining us as we continue this tradition! We can’t wait to see all of your storybook characters parade around the school!
