Humble ISD is seeking motivated 8th grade students from around the district to apply to our International Baccalaureate (IB) Academy. District transportation is offered to all approved transfers.
The IB Academy is a 4-year world-class college preparatory program where students experience challenging coursework, the opportunity to earn college credit, and a school-within-a-school community in Humble High School’s brand new Advanced Academic wing.
IB is beneficial for all students who are willing to challenge themselves. Through IB, students are given a unique education that helps them develop strong academic, social, and emotional characteristics. They are also likely to perform well academically – often better than students in other programs and often more likely to be recruited by top universities worldwide. The program is designed so students can participate in UIL activities while remaining fully enrolled in IB.
IB is also recommended for Gifted and Talented and High Potential students because it provides context for learning that not only helps them make real and authentic connections to their world but works with their highly-inquisitive hearts and minds.
The IB program teaches students to approach uncertainty and unfamiliar or difficult situations with courage, flexibility, and forethought, and use their skills to deal with unexpected changes. Important traits in our rapidly changing society.
IB students show empathy, compassion, and respect. We have a commitment to service, and we act to make a positive difference in the lives of others and in the world around us.
The best benefit? The IB Academy is FREE for students - our program pays for all books, testing fees, and field trips.
