Inspiring moments: big heroes, tiny homes

Since 2018, Humble ISD students have been actively building tiny homes meant to provide a temporary residence for homeless veterans. In partnership with Langetree Retreat & Eco Center, Operation Finally Home and Lowe's the program has now produced 21 homes for the property.

Performing becomes outlet, safe space for Ramirez
"Whenever I’m on stage I always feel this sort of power that comes to me that makes me feel like I can do anything and I don’t have to be scared about what others think because I’m doing what I love and that’s all I care about.” Senior Jesse Ramirez said his autism has made many aspects of high school an "uphill battle," but the stresses fade when he has a song to sing.

Girls sports across the country have steadily grown since Title IX was enacted. The impact has been felt on campus over the years by teachers and athletes.
Bear breaks sliding record, dislocates shoulder
While Bear has set the school’s single season stolen base record with 27 this year, his slide into 3rd base on April 10 sidelined him. Bear dislocated his shoulder but hopes to return to action before the playoffs end.
Klinefelter ready for final playoff run
Senior Ava Klinefelter has been a starter for the softball team for four years, and has helped the team reach the playoffs every year. Now, she hopes to lead them on the deepest playoff run in program history.

The Silver Stars experienced a very unique situation when they traveled to Hawaii and got a crash course in kona storms. The group was able to still take dance classes and tour a little, but weather challenges changed their original plans.
