Tennis tightens Macapazes’ bond
Junior Jaylen Macapaz thought he walked away from tennis at age 5. Kingwood Park tennis coach John Macapaz didn't try to force the issue as the two found other ways to bond and sports to play over the years. That bond, however, is what sparked a slight interest for Jaylen to try tennis one more time in eighth grade. Now, the tennis boys team captain can't imagine high school without tennis – or his dad.

New instructor takes over Tiny Home initiative
This year, Dr. David Horton joined the staff as the new architecture teacher. “Having an opportunity to work with the tiny home program was a major reason I decided to take this job,” Horton said. “I knew about the program before coming here, but I have learned even more about it over the past few weeks since I arrived.”
Victory over KHS adds excitement for new season
This year’s team was confident going in, but knew playing at Kingwood High School would be a challenge. After a late start due to long sub-varsity matches, the Panthers needed five sets to capture the victory.
