Inspiring Moments: Big Heroes, Tiny Homes

In this Inspiring Moment we learn about how the Big Heroes: Tiny Homes program has grown in seven years. Since 2018, Humble ISD students have been actively building tiny homes meant to provide a temporary home for homeless veterans. In partnership with Langetree Retreat & Eco Center, Operation Finally Home and Lowe's the program has now produced 21 homes for the property.

Victory over KHS adds excitement for new season
This year’s team was confident going in, but knew playing at Kingwood High School would be a challenge on Aug. 24. After a late start due to long sub-varsity matches, the Panthers needed five sets to capture the victory. In the final set, the team won 15-10, extending its win streak against Kingwood to two.
Opportunities continue to grow nationwide for girls in sports
Girls sports across the country have steadily grown since Title IX was enacted. The impact has been felt on campus over the years by teachers and athletes.
Football team carries high expectations into season
After a 5-5 season last year, the football team has been putting in hard work over the summer and playing in scrimmages in hopes of a better season. From 5:30 a.m. practices before school started, to now having practice during and after school, the team is preparing for the upcoming season. The Panthers kick off the season against Goose Creek Memorial at Turner Stadium on Aug. 28.
Kona storm washes out Silver Stars’ Hawaiian itinerary
The Silver Stars experienced a very unique situation when they traveled to Hawaii and got a crash course in kona storms. The group was able to still take dance classes and tour a little, but weather challenges changed their original plans.
