The future of esports at Atascocita High School just got brighter. The Humble ISD high school announced Brightspeed as a presenting sponsor of its esports program, powering up opportunities for students with new technology and equipment to sharpen their competitive edge and build technical and career ready skills.

With a $45,000 sponsorship, Brightspeed is supporting a technology and equipment upgrade that includes 12 computers with gaming graphics cards, 12 sets of keyboards, mice, and headsets, and 20 student-designed team jerseys.

Atascocita High School’s pep rally brought school spirit and a big boost for esports as Brightspeed representatives joined students and school leaders to celebrate the partnership with a $45,000 check presentation.

β€œAt Brightspeed, we believe strong communities grow when people are connected to opportunity,” stated Kevin Kastor, government affairs and public policy principal at Brightspeed. β€œThat means expanding access to fast, reliable internet, but it also means showing up and investing in the communities we serve. Through this partnership, we’re helping Atascocita High School students access the technology and experiences that can build skills, spark new interests, and prepare for what comes next.”

Atascocita High School’s esports team has earned multiple state and national championships over the past five years. As the program continues to grow, the new equipment will give students access to updated technology for competition while helping them develop technical and career-ready skills.

β€œBeing on the esports team gave life to many things that I never knew I would have experienced in high school,” said Juan-Kristopher Russell, a senior and team captain.

β€œOur esports program gives students a place to belong, build confidence, and develop teamwork and problem-solving skills that extend beyond competition,” said Will Falker, principal of Atascocita High School. β€œWe are grateful to Brightspeed for investing in our students and providing technology that will help build on their success and explore future opportunities.”

The partnership between Brightspeed and Atascocita High School will continue throughout the school year. Students will help put their own stamp on the program by designing team jerseys featuring β€œPowered by Brightspeed” branding and participating in naming and design activities for the school’s Esports classroom.
