Senior Police Officer Lissette Martinez was named the Humble ISD Police Department’s 2026 Officer of the Year during the First Responders Appreciation Luncheon on September 15, 2026. The event was presented by Municipal Utility District 152 and Partnership Lake Houston.
Each year, Partnership Lake Houston recognizes outstanding first responders from area agencies at a special luncheon celebrating their dedication and commitment to serving the community.
Martinez began her law enforcement career with the Humble ISD Police Department in 2015. She currently serves as the district’s attendance officer and truancy prevention facilitator.
She was recognized for her commitment to resolving truancy and for helping Humble ISD campuses interpret and enforce compulsory attendance laws. Martinez conducts home visits and parent conferences to ensure families understand attendance requirements, and represents Humble ISD as a liaison to local law enforcement agencies and courts.
“When a child misses school, they are at risk of poor grades, reduced social interaction with classmates, and ultimately dropping out,” Humble ISD Police Chief Solomon Cook said. “As a truancy officer, Sr. Officer Martinez has changed the lives of at-risk students. She makes a tangible difference in their quality of life and helps ensure they receive the education and opportunities they deserve.”
