Summerwood, Willow Creek and Deerwood elementary schools earned top honors in the 2026 HERO Robotics Competition.
HERO is a robotics competition for fourth- and fifth-grade students that challenges teams to program autonomous LEGO robots to complete a series of tasks requiring problem-solving, computational thinking and teamwork. Finalist teams also participate in a Coding Design Challenge that combines creativity with computer science skills.
Summerwood Elementary's team, Amazing Animatronics, earned first-place honors in the 2026 HERO Robotics Competition. Team members include Katherine Chou, Jax Medellin and Pedro Rodriguez.

Willow Creek Elementary's team, Dragonomes, won the 2026 HERO Coding Design Challenge. Team members include Case Alberson, Grace MacNaughton and Brett Phillips.

Deerwood Elementary's team, Frozen Scales, was named the 2026 HERO Robotics Overall Champion. Team members include Fia Delgado, Declan Fowler and Mia Rodriguez.
