Kingwood High School students and staff have been named finalists for the 2026 Tommy Tune Awards, a program that recognizes educational value, artistry and community of high school musical theater in the greater Houston area.

Outstanding Technical Achievement β Kingwood High School, The Sound of Music
The nominations follow the schoolβs successful production of The Sound of Music, which featured performances by students and contributions from orchestra members.
βWe are incredibly proud of the hard work these students and our orchestra put in, making The Sound of Music such a successful and special show,β Kingwood High School head theater director Camee Faulk said.
Faulk also emphasized the important role of community support in the production's success.
βEven more important than awards, we would like to thank the amazing Humble ISD community who showed up and sold out numerous performances,β she said. βOur students felt your love and support every single night, which created an unforgettable experience. The hearts of our students and the community were truly blessed with the sound of music!β
The 2026 Tommy Tune Awards will be held at 7 p.m. May 8 at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets will be available for purchase beginning March 25.
