Every biennial, the University Interscholastic League reclassifies and realigns schools across the State of Texas for athletic competition for the following two years.
The annual event took place on Monday morning as the UIL revealed the new district alignments for football, volleyball and basketball for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 school years at 9 a.m.
Humble ISD has four Class 6A programs - Atascocita, Humble, Kingwood and Summer Creek - and one Class 5A program in Kingwood Park.
Atascocita, Humble, Kingwood and Summer Creek will move into the new District 17-6A. There is some carryover from District 23-6A as North Shore, C.E. King and Channelview will remain in the district with Humble ISD programs. Goose Creek Memorial moved back down to Class 5A (District 9-5A-DI), while Crosby moves up to Class 6A and will be in District 17-6A.
Kingwood Park compared to the last UIL Realignment will be in Class 5A Division II.
For football only, the Panthers will play in District 9-5A-DII against Spring Woods, Huntsville, Montgomery, Lake Creek, Porter, West Fork and Splendora. The only opponent that is a carryover from the last realignment for Kingwood Park is Porter.
In volleyball and basketball, Kingwood Park will slide into District 18-5A, which includes Northbrook, Spring Woods, New Caney, Porter, West Fork and Splendora.
