Humble ISD School Board President Marques Holmes has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Texas Association of School Boards. The Texas Association Of Schools Board was established in 1949 to serve local Texas school boards and today serves more than 7,000 school board members.
TASB Directors serve as representatives of the school boards in their regions, guiding the Association in fulfilling its mission to promote educational excellence for Texas school children through the advancement of good governance, valuable learning experiences for school leaders, and public school advocacy.
Mr. Holmes will serve in Region 4, Position A, on the TASB Board through October 2026. The TASB Board is made up of school board members from across the State of Texas.
He will join Darlene Breaux (Alief ISD), Crystal Carbone (Pearland ISD), Angela Lemond Flowers (Houston ISD), Rebecca Fox (Katy ISD), Todd LeCompte (Cypress-Fairbanks ISD) and Angie Hanan (Fort Bend ISD) representing Region 4 school boards.
Mr. Holmes has been a member of the Humble ISD School Board since December 14, 2021. Professionally, he is a national director for a technology company, leading a team that serves state, local, and education markets. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State and has several certifications in leadership training and development. In addition to his bachelor’s degree, Marques started work on his Master’s degree in Computer Science at Harvard University in Fall of 2024.
Marques is the father of two children, Major, a freshman at Atascocita High School, and Kamille, a graduate of Howard University and Atascocita High School.
In the community, Mr. Holmes serves on the Board of Global Outreach Community Church and he is a former board member for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is one of the founding partners of John Maxwell’s Coaching Certification program and is a graduate of Leadership Lake Houston Class X and Leadership Houston Class XXVIII. He enjoys being a busy Dad and mentoring youth.
