Humble ISD invites families and the community to celebrate the grand opening of Greentree Elementary’s new “Wizard of Oz” playground. A dedication ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, at the school, located at 3502 Brook Shadow Drive.
The event will feature student performances by the Greentree Elementary Choir, remarks from Principal Stacy Seay, and student reflections on what the new playground means to them.
Follow the Yellow Brick Road to Greentree Elementary School’s Wizard of Oz themed playground! From Auntie Em and Uncle Henry’s farm to the poppy fields outside the dazzling Emerald City, this play space invites kids to explore, imagine, and play recess after recess.
Designed for ages 5-12 this play space features several PlayBooster® structures with custom DigiFuse® panels, thrilling slides, balancing challenges and Dorothy’s iconic ruby red slipper as a slide! The Quantis® A.3 provides additional climbing fun with a mixture of net and belting materials. A variety of activity panels, spinners, and swings extend the excitement throughout the entire playground while three Cozy Dome® retreats provide quiet escapes.
A seamless poured-in-place safety surfacing ensures accessibility for children of all abilities while incorporating a colorful design featuring a yellow brick road path to The Land of Oz.
This imaginative and fun play space was designed and installed by Lone Star Recreation of Texas, the exclusive supplier for Landscape Structures playground equipment in Southeast Texas.
This new playground marks the 23rd installation in Humble ISD’s ongoing campus playground revitalization initiative and is the fifth unveiled during the 2025-2026 school year.
Humble ISD elementary playgrounds are open to the public when school is not in session.
