WCE Playground Dedication

On Wednesday, students and community members gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the new Wonders of the World-themed playground at Willow Creek Elementary. The dedication ceremony featured remarks from Principal Alicia Pearce and Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools Christy Erb; student performances by the 4th and 5th grade Choir and Ukulele Club; and student reflections on what the new playground means to them.

This new playground marks the 21st installation in Humble ISD’s ongoing campus playground revitalization initiative and is the third unveiled during the 2025-2026 school year. The playground was designed and installed by GameTime.

A Closer Look at Willow Creek Elementary's New Playground

Custom-designed by GameTime’s Landmark Design team and expertly installed by Cunningham Recreation, this one-of-a-kind playground invites students to explore famous landmarks from around the world through exciting, hands-on play experiences.

Students can climb the Pyramids of Egypt on a large net structure, race along the Taj Mahal track ride, and reach new heights on the Eiffel Tower climber. The Colosseum of Rome and the Great Wall of China come to life as multi-level playground structures filled with slides, bridges, climbers, and interactive components that encourage adventure and teamwork.

Colorful poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing adds to the excitement with vibrant graphics that tie the global theme together—camels, pandas, tigers, and ocean creatures—all guiding students on their journey.

The Wonders of the World Playground blends cultural discovery with active play, inspiring curiosity, creativity, and connection as students discover the wonders of the world without ever leaving the schoolyard.
