Humble ISD will be well represented in Round Rock at the 2025 UIL State Cross Country Meet on Saturday, November 1.
Athletes from Atascocita, Kingwood and Summer Creek High School qualified for the State Cross Country Meet after qualifying at the Region III-6A Meet in Huntsville.
Atascocita junior Eli Mugambi led the way, capturing the Region III-6A Championship with a time of 15 minutes and 25.40 seconds.
Kingwood junior Jed Mazingo finished 4th (15:55.40) and teammate Emanuelle Sanabria took 15th overall (16:18.10). Both will represent Kingwood at the UIL State Cross Country Meet.
Summer Creek’s Ja’Juan Allison took 8th overall (16:03.30) to round out the Top 10.
With 138 points Summer Creek finished 4th overall as a team and qualified for the UIL State Cross Country Meet. Behind Allison was twin brother Da’Juan who finished 13th (16:14.30) and Michael Ernst finishing 18th (16:27.90) to round out the team’s Top 20 finishers. Caden Perry (50th - 17:10.10), Jose Alvarado (64th – 17:24.00), Giovanni Calderon (88th – 17:48.70) and Caleb Schneider (152nd – 19:22.80) also contributed to the Top 4 finish.
On the girls’ side, Kingwood senior Ella Narhi was the top finisher crossing the line at 18:34.40 to take seventh place overall in the Region III-6A Girls Cross Country Championships. Fueled by her finish, Kingwood raced their way to a Region III-6A Runner-Up finish.
With 111 points, Kingwood took second overall. Kayla Parrish finished 25th (19:38.70), Clara Dye took 31st (19:46.40) and Emma Harlan took 34th (19:56.70). Elizabeth Parrish (52nd – 20:25.00), Sarah Garay (67th – 20:48.20) and Talia Olthoff (71st – 20:55.90) also played key roles in the second-place finish.
