Humble ISD received a request to recount the vote from the May 3, 2025, election for Position 3 on the Humble ISD School Board. The recount began on the morning of Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at a Harris County Clerk’s Elections Department facility and concluded mid-morning on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
The final result of the recount was 5,223 votes for Natalie Carter; 5,262 votes for Chris Parker; 154 undervotes and 0 overvotes. An undervote occurred when a person cast a ballot but did not mark any selection for Position 3.
The recount did not change the outcome of the election.
School Board members serve four-year terms and are volunteer, unpaid elected officials. Those who were elected in the May 3, 2025, election -- Oscar Silva, Position 1; Chris Parker, Position 3; and Elizabeth Shaw, Position 5 -- are scheduled to take the oath of office at the School Board meeting to be held June 10, 2025. The Humble ISD School Board will be required to canvass the recount results.
Under the Texas Election Code, the person requesting the recount is responsible for the actual cost of the recount if the election outcome is unchanged by a recount.
