Middle School 11 - Lake Houston Middle School

By Public Communications

The Humble ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved Lake Houston Middle School as the name of Middle School No. 11 during their monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

Humble ISD middle schools tend to have names related to environmental features, such as woods, creeks and rivers, or places, such as Atascocita, Humble or Kingwood. Middle School No. 11 is located near Lake Houston. Thus, the name reflects both the location and features of the environment.

Proposed school colors are black and gold, with light blue and gray accents. Gold was chosen because the students will feed into Summer Creek High School, which has gold as one of its colors. There are no other middle schools in Humble ISD with black and gold as their school colors.

By September 2024, attendance boundaries will be established for Middle School No. 11. Once the attendance boundaries have been approved, families residing in the new school’s attendance boundaries will be invited to help select the school’s mascot.

Lake Houston Middle School is slated to open in August 2025. The three-story campus will serve students residing in neighborhoods that are currently zoned to Autumn Ridge Middle School, West Lake Middle School, and potentially Woodcreek Middle School.
