Humble ISD has updated its calendar for next school year, making minor adjustments. The Humble ISD calendar has been updated in three areas:
1. Middle and High School Late Arrival Days in April
Because of the STAAR testing schedule that was recently announced, two of the late arrival dates for the secondary campuses have been removed (Thursday, April 20, 2023, and Thursday, April 27, 2023) because those dates now fall within the state testing window. Thursday, April 13, has been added as late arrival day because it now falls outside the state testing window.
2. Elementary Holiday/Staff Workday in November
The Elementary Holiday/Staff Workday on Monday, November 28, has been changed from an Elementary Student Holiday/Staff Workday to a normal school day for elementary students and staff. This change will allow for more instructional minutes to accumulate so that, in the event of a brief closure for inclement weather, school may not have to be made up on another day because additional minutes will have been “banked.”
3. Middle School Early Release Days at the End of Each Semester
Based on feedback from the Superintendent’s Secondary Teacher Advisory, middle schools will continue to have early release days on the second to the last day of the semesters (Thursday, December 15, 2022, and on Thursday, May 25, 2023) as well as on the last day of each semester. Middle schools have enough instructional minutes within their yearly schedules to have two early release days at the end of the semester. High schools and elementary schools, however, will have early release on the last day of each semester due to their yearly minutes.
