Partnership Lake Houston held its annual luncheon on March 21 to honor at the Humble Civic Center to honor Humble ISD’s 47 Campus Teachers of the Year along with teachers from Lone Star College-Kingwood, Holy Trinity Episcopal School, Humble Christian School, San Jacinto College, and St. Mary Magdalene School.
Presenting sponsors for the annual luncheon spoke prior to the awards being presented to the Teachers of the Year.
“The YMCA understands and respects the influential role of educators and the relentless work that it takes to pour into youth as you all do so well,” YMCA Lake Houston Community Executive Director Talybra Hollins said during the luncheon. “We know and believe it is much more than just getting them to the next grade. Often what we don’t understand is you’re getting them to the hour, the next friendship, overcoming new challenges, helping them navigate emotional intelligence and helping them believe, dream and imagine more than they can see themselves sometimes.”
