Performing becomes outlet, safe space for Ramirez

"Whenever I’m on stage I always feel this sort of power that comes to me that makes me feel like I can do anything and I don’t have to be scared about what others think because I’m doing what I love and that’s all I care about.” Senior Jesse Ramirez said his autism has made many aspects of high school an "uphill battle," but the stresses fade when he has a song to sing.

    While Bear has set the school’s single season stolen base record with 27 this year, his slide into 3rd base on April 10 sidelined him. Bear dislocated his shoulder but hopes to return to action before the playoffs end.

    The Silver Stars experienced a very unique situation when they traveled to Hawaii and got a crash course in kona storms. The group was able to still take dance classes and tour a little, but weather challenges changed their original plans.
