Humble ISD celebrated its 22nd Annual Fine Arts Festival on Saturday, May 3, at Lone Star College–Kingwood, bringing together families, students, and community members for a vibrant celebration of creativity and artistic expression.
Hosted by the Humble ISD Fine Arts Department, the festival featured adjudicated student art exhibits representing every K-12 campus in the district, along with live musical performances by elementary and middle school students. The event also included an Artisan Market, highlighting handcrafted goods made by Humble ISD art teachers and local artisans, and 19 interactive creation stations for attendees.
“The festival is a wonderful opportunity for our community to experience the arts and witness our students’ voices expressed through their achievements,” Humble ISD Assistant Director of Fine Arts Sandra Newton said. “It was an incredible day to celebrate student artwork, performances, and the creativity that reflects the dedication of our students, teachers, and the strong support from our district. We are truly grateful to our community for supporting our programs and joining us in the celebration.”
Festivalgoers engaged in a wide array of hands-on art activities, including papel picado, origami, glass bead magnets, coffee filter flowers, watercolor mandalas, screenprinting, flower crowns, sand layering, sidewalk chalk art, metal tooling, face painting, and more.
Throughout the day, students showcased their talents in performances spanning choir, xylophone, orchestra, guitar, band, and percussion ensemble.
“The Humble ISD Fine Arts Festival is an opportunity to connect with our community,” Humble ISD Assistant Director of Fine Arts Jenni Olges said. “The festival brings together elementary performing ensembles and our broader community for amazing and diverse performances—from choirs to bucket drumming! It also gives our students the unique experience of performing in a professional-level venue, making this a day they and their families eagerly anticipate each year.”
With vibrant visual art, energetic performances, and community spirit, the Humble ISD Fine Arts Festival continues to be an event that celebrates student voices, creativity, and achievement across the district.
