Hi. I am Katrina Johnson and I am your PFE school counselor.

I grew up in Channelview, Tx where I graduated from Channelview High School. I went to Lamar University in Beaumont, TX where I received my Bachelors and University of Phoenix where I received my Master's Degree. I have been in education for 10+ years and I have a passion for helping, teaching and learning.

I love to read, watch tv and travel. I am passionate about helping kids grow socially, emotionally and become young independent learners. Our children are our future and it is my top priority to help them to be successful in every aspect of life.

I am excited to meet with every Panther as well as get to know the community of PFE.

Counseling at PFE

As the Pine Forest Counselor, I have the privilege to work with all of our students in PK-5th grade in their classrooms, in small groups, and in short-term individual counseling meetings to support the whole child through social and emotional learning. Collaborating with families, teachers, staff and community members is essential to my role to benefit and meet the needs of all PFE students.

COUNSELING DELIVERY:

Classroom Guidance Lessons: These lessons will be presented in the classrooms for students in grades PK-5 at least one time each nine-week grading period.  Lessons will teach developmentally appropriate life skills.

Group or Individual Counseling: The purpose of small groups is to bring students with similar needs or concerns together to share, problem solve, and connect with their peers to enhance their social and emotional development.  Small group counseling is available to all students and will take place throughout the year. Groups typically range in size from 4 to 5 students and meet 4-5 times total during the normal school day.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
