Middle School Mascots

Located in Northeast Houston, Humble ISD is home to 10 middle schools across Humble, Kingwood, Atascocita, Summerwood and Fall Creek . An 11th middle school, Lake Houston Middle School, is set to open August 2025.

CTE 6th Grade Wheel

Humble ISD provides opportunities to enhance learning for sixth grade students through a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Middle School Exploration Wheel.

The goal is to provide students across the district with hands-on opportunities to discover their personal strengths while exploring multiple educational paths before reaching high school. 

AVID TMS

AVID Program

AVID is a global, non-profit college and career readiness system that equips teachers and schools to partner with students in becoming college and career ready. The AVID College Readiness System empowers students to take control of their educational destiny, closes the opportunity gap through access and support, trains educators in research-based methods of effective instruction, and serves as a catalyst for systemic reform and change. 

The AVID Elective is a year-long course providing academic and executive function skills in order to assist students in navigating the complexities of advanced coursework and post-secondary preparedness by accelerating academic success.

Athletics

Humble ISD offers athletics in middle school for students in 7th and 8th grades. Students can compete in basketball, cross country, football, track and field, soccer and volleyball.

Fine Arts

Humble ISD offers fine arts in middle school for students in 6th through 8th grades. Students can participate in art, band, choir, dance, orchestra and theatre.

Outdoor Obstacle/Fitness Courses

Humble ISD Middle Schools will all receive Outdoor Obstacle/Fitness Courses by 2027 as part of Bond 2022.

Creekwood Middle School, Humble Middle School and West Lake Middle School are the campuses that have had its courses completed to date.
