Robert Murphy named next head football coach/campus athletic coordinator at Humble High School

At the Humble ISD School Board meeting on Tuesday, May 9, Robert Murphy, Humble High School football defensive coordinator and assistant head coach, was named the next head football coach/campus athletic coordinator of Humble High School.
Coach Murphy has eight years of coaching experience between New Caney Middle School, New Caney High School and Humble High School.
In his coaching career, Murphy has held the positions of assistant head coach, defensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator, head strength and conditioning coach, head track coach, special teams coordinator, safeties coach, head powerlifting/strength coach, assistant basketball coach and assistant defensive backs coach.
From 2016-2021, Murphy served on the coaching staff which guided the New Caney Eagles to a 42-15 record, the first undefeated regular season and playoff win in program history and four-straight District Championships from 2016-2019. New Caney won playoff games in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and had the No. 1 defense in the district each of those years and 2019.
In 2021, Murphy came to Humble High School and retooled the defense to improve the Wildcats defensive unit to go from last to fourth-best in District 21-6A – considered one of the toughest districts in the State of Texas. Murphy has also played a major role in the college recruitment as he has created and edited recruiting tools and oversaw all recruiting details at Humble High School.
Murphy takes over a Wildcat team that finished just one spot out of the playoffs in 2022.

Bond 2022 Funded Technology Campus Schedule
Humble High School is receiving:
New Instructional Staff Laptops & Office PCs: 2023-2024 School Year
New Interactive Panels & Chromebook Carts: 2025-2026 School Year
In May of 2022, Humble ISD citizens voted for students, teachers and schools to have additional, newer technology through Bond 2022 Proposition B.
There are three categories of purchases being made:
Devices for Campus Instructional Staff: Every instructional staff member will have the opportunity to get a new laptop, charger, and carrying case. The laptop will be more powerful than the devices some teachers currently use. The new laptops will run a Windows operating system.
Devices for Campus Staff: Every office or front desk staff member will have the opportunity to get a new desktop computer, keyboard, and dual monitors.
Devices for Classrooms: Every classroom will be equipped with a touch screen panel with an integrated PC.
The devices will be rolled out on a staggered schedule. There are two reasons for this:
We remain committed to our promise of not raising the tax rate so the district sells only a portion of the bonds at one time in order to keep the tax rate stable.
It is wise to purchase technology over time, instead of all at once, so that all of our devices don’t expire in the same year.
The new technology is being rolled out first to campuses that have the oldest devices, based upon this formula:
