The Humble Elementary Radiant Readers and Riverwood Middle School Page Protestors earned first-place honors in the district’s annual Battle of the Books competition.
Battle of the Books is a reading competition for students in grades 4-8. Teams compete in separate elementary and middle school divisions, advancing through three rounds before meeting in a championship round. Participants read 12 selected books and answer questions based on the readings to earn points and advance through the competition.
The Humble Elementary Radiant Readers won the elementary division. Team members included Lucia Aguilar, Janik Barrera, Sofia Gonzalez, Aurora Hernandez, Ayomiposi Oni, Olivia Strom and London Taylor.
Riverwood Middle School’s Page Protestors claimed the middle school division title. Team members included Zara Ahmed, Amelia Fransua, Katherine Hoover, Suri Loeffel, Kennedy Oliver and Isabelle Wang.
Humble ISD recognized both teams for their achievement during the May 26 Recognition Board Meeting.
