Tardy Bell:

The tardy bell rings at 8:00 a.m. Students that are not in their classrooms at this time will be given a tardy slip.

School Zones are NO Cell Phone Zones

No cell phones are allowed in Humble ISD school zones.  You've seen the signs--now slow down and hang up!  Better yet, wait to make or take that phone call until you get home.  Cell phone use in a school zone is PROHIBITED by law and is punishable by a $200 fine.   GTE has posted signs and you may be ticketed!

• HERE is a dismissal direction map that can help clarify our processes.  

• All students arriving after 8:00 need to have a parent walk in to the front office to check them in.  The doors at the back will close and lock at 8:00 am.  All classes begin their day at 8:00.

• Students eating breakfast should go directly to the cafeteria and then go to class.  This will help expedite their morning routines and ensure they are in class by 8:00.

Our goal is for car rider lines to be finished by 3:35.  This will not happen for the first few week or so as we work to refine our procedures.  Parents that arrive to pick up their child after the car rider lines finish will need to come into the front office to pick their children up.

Greentree Elementary SEVERE WEATHER DISMISSAL Procedures

• The decision to call a Severe Weather Dismissal will be made at 2:55 PM by campus administrators.

• Parents will be notified if SEVERE WEATHER DISMISSAL is implemented via GTE Connect email and text message by 3:00 PM (as long as the weather has not disrupted our power and/or communication systems).  An email and text message will NOT be sent if it will be a regular dismissal for the day. 

• All parents/guardians picking up any student(s) must have a dismissal number.  Any parent/guardian picking up a child without a dismissal number will be asked to go to the front office to check out their child. The dismissal of students from the office will happen at the conclusion of the dismissal process for the campus.

• Safety Patrol will not be on duty.

• Bring your patience.  Everyone is trying their best to make the process as efficient as possible while keeping safety at the forefront.

Car Riders

• Car rider lines will run as usual, but will run slower due to the modified loading of cars under or closer to covered walkways.  Parents/guardians picking up students in the car rider lines must have their student’s dismissal number displayed in the windshield.

We will NOT utilize our 5th grade Safety Patrol students since it will be unsafe, so this will also slow dismissal procedures.

Bikers & Walkers

• No students will be released from campus on their own as walkers or bike riders.

• Bikers and walkers can become car riders and be picked up in the car rider line that the parent/guardian designated when completing the GTE Dismissal Form GTE Dismissal Form .

• Front door walkers can be picked up at Door # 2, which is next to the Butterfly Garden.  Parents should have the dismissal number to pick up their child(ren).

• Back door walkers can be picked up under the pavilion.  Parents should have the dismissal number to pick up their child(ren).

• Creekwood Walkers will be picked up via Creekwood carpool. (only available if parent/guardian works at Creekwood)

Buses & YMCA

• Day Care and Humble ISD Bus routes will run as usual.

• YMCA will be on campus as usual unless you are otherwise notified by the YMCA of changes to their program for the day. 

If you have not yet completed the GTE Dismissal Form GTE Dismissal Form indicating how your child will go home.  If you have any questions or specific concerns in regards to your child, please contact your child’s teacher.

Items turned into the Lost and Found are kept in the cafeteria. We do send notices out once the bins and racks start to overflow.

We donate all unclaimed items at the end of each semester.

Remember to label all of your students' belongings. It makes it so much easier to return things when we can identify their owner!
