Middle School Students Will Participate In The Following Assessments Under STAAR:

Grade 6:  Reading and Math

Grade 7: Reading and Math

Grade 8: Reading, Math or Algebra I EOC*, Science, and Social Studies

*Students not scoring at Approaching Grade Level will retake the Algebra I EOC beginning in June until they reach Approaching Grade Level.

All students at AMS are read this statement before EVERY district, state, and national assessment. 

Before we begin testing… how many of you have airpods?  Cell Phones?  Smart Watches?  Apple Watches?  Android Watches?  Camera?  Gaming system?  Or, any other form of electronic device that connects to music or the internet on you right now - meaning in your ears, in your pockets…  

If you do, STOP right now… I need for you to power off… shut down… turn off all of the devices… AND store them away from you and your testing material.  This means, remove your airpods from your ears; take off your smart watches, apple watches, android watches; remove cameras, cell phones, and any other electronic or gaming devices from your pockets AND either turn them into me or place them in your backpack until testing is complete for ALL students.  

Consequences may include:  being viewed as cheating, receiving a disciplinary action, and affecting graduation requirements.  Again, all electronic devices that are personally on you during state testing are prohibited.
