Hi 6th Grade Tigers,

My name is Crystal Nichols and I am the current 6th Grade Counselor at Atascocita Middle School.  I’m originally from Los Angeles, California, and after college, I moved to Humble, Texas with my husband.  We have 5 children and two grandchildren.  I love to listen to music, draw, and swim.  Most of the time you will find me hanging out with my children and watching a movie on the weekends.

Counseling has always been my passion.  I’ve been at AMS for 16 years, in which 2 years I was a teacher and then transitioned to the counselor position.  I truly love being a counselor!  This role has given me an opportunity to help students be the best that they can be.  I’m here to guide students to Career, College, and Military Ready (CCMR), along with supporting them emotionally and socially.  Being in the middle can be challenging, but with the support of your peers, your teachers, and the counseling team, you will navigate it like a champ!

This is going to be a great year and I’m looking forward to exploring it with you!

Humble ISD will be hosting opportunities to take the Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2) every month at different campuses across the district at no charge. These opportunities are being offered as a convenience to families of students who will be taking college-level classes now or in the future.

Under state requirements, anyone enrolling in a college-level English or Math class at a Texas public university or community college must pass the TSIA2, or receive a qualifying score on a test such as the ACT, SAT, PSAT or STAAR, in order to enroll in the college-level class. This statewide requirement applies to students enrolled in dual credit classes while in high school, as well as to students enrolling in the future in a college-level class.
