Kingwood Park High School Updates From Bond 2018
Students at Kingwood Park High School have gained a better learning environment thanks to Bond 2018 projects
Humble ISD has completed a number of updates to the Kingwood Park High School facility. For air conditioning, two chillers were replaced as well as the central cooling tower. All related pumps and automated valves were also replaced. Air distribution boxes were added. More efficient direct digital controls are being installed throughout the campus, replacing old pneumatic controls. Also, the process of air and water balancing is ongoing as work on the controls is completed.
Other energy saving upgrades are being made to the school’s air conditioning and boiler systems. “Crews are working on controls to ensure the temperature is consistent throughout the building,” Lisa Drabing, Kingwood Park High School Principal, said.
Bond funds also covered the replacement of the central plant heating boiler. The boiler was replaced with three staged smaller boilers to conserve natural gas. The domestic water boiler and the gym shower boiler were also replaced with more energy-efficient units.
Bond 2018 funds covered the cost of new heating boilers to heat the air at KPHS.
